Week of January 23rd, 2009

Change is in the cold air in NYC!

A new president for the people and a new beer on tap for our customers! We here at Press 195 are always trying to think local and with Defiant Prohibition lager we definitely did think local. Brewed 30 miles from Bayside in Pearl River, NY (Rockland County) this is a great example of a beer brewed during the days of prohibition. It proves that with even the simplest of ingredients, a fine beer can be created. This brewery is one to watch as everything they offer at their brew pub is of the highest quality. The brewmaster, Neil, formely of Mountain Valley Brewpub in Suffern, NY, really knows his stuff and if you ever make it there you must try the bottle conditioned Double IPA. This is the real deal and will make any IPA fan very happy! As well, we brought in some great new bottles to our specialty list including:

The classic Belgian Tripel, Delirium Tremens, which weighs in at 10% abv, smooth and delicious

HeBrew Lenny Bruce R.I.P.A., a phenomenal double IPA that is another 10% abv heavyweight. This beer is brewed with rye malts, which gives it a very distinct taste!
