HEY NOW! Greetings from a bitter cold evening here in Bayside, Queens. Hard to believe just last week it was 55 degrees! However, with the frigid air here, it's finally time to wrap our hands around a nice winter warmer! We have several new beers on the menu this week. First and foremost is the latest IPA on draft, Racer 5 from Bear Republic in California. This is one hell of a beer and has most recently taken Gold medal in the 2009 Great American Beer Festival. If you are a hop lover then you can't miss this offering!! New to the bottle list is two great winter ales. The first is the classic Anchor Steam Christmas Ale which is medium bodied with a hint of spice and continues to be a classic after 35 years! The second offering is Great Divide Hibernation ale from Denver. This is one great English style ale that is heavy on the malt and one that requires sipping! Well enough talk, lets get onto this weeks offering....
DRAFT
Fire Island Lighthouse Ale (Fire Island, NY): Soft carbonation and a light caramel finish makes this an easy ale to drink. It has a toasty round body of a classic American ale. Sit back, relax and make believe your on the beach 5% abv
Blue Point Winter Ale (Patchogue): A local favorite! A hearty and robust amber ale. Brewed to chase away the chill of a cool winter night. Made with Pale, Vienna, Crystal and chocolate malt. 5% abv
Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA (California): STRONG ALE! Quite possibly the best IPA in America today. A serious beer, not for the timid! A malt base allows the floral notes of the Columbus and Cascade hops to shine. The ‘5’ in the name stems from 5 lbs of hops per barrel! This IPA has received more medals than any other in the USA, including the recent 2009 Gold at Great American Beer Festival for strong ale. 7%
Radeberger Pilsner (Germany): Long enjoyed by German nobility, this is the world’s most famous pilsner. One sip and you will know why! Super refreshing and very smooth! 4.7% abv
Speakeasy Prohibition Ale (San Francisco): Brand new on the East Coast, this is a boldly hopped amber ale that strikes a perfect balance between caramel maltiness and hoppy goodness. 6.1% abv
Magic Hat #9 (Vermont): A rather dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not quite pale ale that has been a staple at Press 195 for 5 years! #9 will continue to win over new drinkers. Spicy food will taste even better with this brew! 4.6% abv
Keegan’s Mother’s Milk (Kingston,NY): As the name implies, this is a dark and creamy milk stout. Hints of oatmeal, chocolate and of course milk, give this stout a remarkably smooth finish. 5.5% abv
Allagash White Beer (Maine): Our number one seller is a traditional Belgian wheat beer brewed with a generous portion of wheat and a special blend of spices, this beer is light and delicious! Pairs well with just about any sandwich! 5.5% abv
