This week we have several new bottles on the list including the all mighty Allagash Tripel Reserve, one fine Belgian inspired goodie as well as Founders imperial Porter. Founders can't produce beer fast enough and one taste of this hefty beer and you will know why. Also take a stab at the all new River Horse Tripel on tap. At 10% abv this beer packs a wallop! Captain Lawrence Freshchester Pale Ale (NY): LOCAL FAVORITE! From Westchester comes this top rated aromatic crisp pale ale. Loaded with West Coast hops and a strong malty backbone, this is a great example of a classic American Pale Ale. 5.6% abv

New menu 2/17/22

Hola amigos and welcome to the first decently warm day in ages. As the weather heats up slightly the last of our Winter ales are being drank and some new lighter refreshments are coming on board. Two highlights this week come from the great East Coast. First, in bottle, is the ultra limited Cigar City Humidor Series Jai Alai Cedar Aged IPA. Via the hottest brewery today, Cigar City in Tampa, this is one hell of a beer that skillfully takes their standard IPA and ages it in cedar. This process results in a softened IPA that has many nuances of flavor that are usually masked behind the hop bite. Draft wise, we just added River Horse Tripel Horse to the taps. Via New Jersey, this is unique take on the Belgian golden ale. It haas a big body and rich mouth feel that goes down so easily you forget the 10%abv it has. Be careful, it can sneak up on you! Anyways, on to this weeks list!

Hola Amigos! Welcome to 2011 and another great year for great beer. We look forward to bringing a lot of new and exciting beers to the the menu. We are already off to a great start this new year as we are excited to offer some heavy hitters. First is a great Oatmeal Brown Ale from the fastest growing new brewery of 2010, Cigar City from Tampa, Florida. This is one silky smooth brown ale that has a distinct bite from the oatmeal. With a 96 of 100 score from Ratebeer.com you can;t go wrong with this beer! Also new to the list is a great belgian inspired Tripel from a great little brewery in Southern New Jersey, River Horse. Hola amigos and welcome to Winter 2010! The cold air means one thing to us beer drinkers, malt and more malts! Yes the Winter ales are in and we got a whole new batch for you to warm the palate. On draft we welcome the ever popular Harpoon Winter Warmer, a great balanced beer that has a malty caramel front and mild hops that provide a great warming after-taste. Bottle wise we have many new beers to choose from. Most notable is the ever-popular Delerium Noel, a Belgian Christmas tradition that many would say is the best holiday offering worldwide! Try one and decide for yourself. Also of note is the Founders Backwards Bastard. If you are a bourbon fan, this one is for you. Hey Now! An amzing day outside and what goes great with this weather, beer! And we have plenty of it here in Bayside. Never had Captain Lawrence Pale Ale from Westchester, it's a must have. Also new and noteworthy on tap currently is Coney Island Luna Lager and the ever popular Blue Point Toasted Lager. In bottle we just received shipment of Speakeasy Payback Porter, damn good!

Hey now! Greetings from a steamy and humid Bayside....perfect weather for a beer! This week we are excited to debut a phenomenal beer from Michigan, Founder's Pale Ale. This brewery has produced nothing but top caliber beers and this is no exception. Crisp, slightly sweet and hoppy, this is one well balanced beer! Another fantastic editin is the classic Oktoberfest from Hofbrau in Germany. Finally we are enjoying the limited edition Coney Island Luna Lager. This beer was brewed initially for the new Luna Park amusement center in Coney Island but license issues forced them to reject the delivery and we were able to get a hand on one of the barrels! Hola amigos and welcome to Spring 2010! Been a while since I spoke with everybody and this was flagged by loyal reader Kim B. so thanks for the nudge to get back on track! Since we last spoke we have had some great additions to the draft line-up here in Bayside. Some key highlights include the great Muddy Creek lager from nearby Defiant brewery (Pearl River, NY) , the amazingly hopped Lagunitas IPA which is a superb offering and one hell of a pale ale from Maryland Flying dog brewery . Hey now! Greetings to a brand new 2010. We look forward to a year filled with joy, prosperity and good beer!

With the new year comes several new bottles to whet your whistle. This week we are excited to feature Troegs Nugget Nectar in bottle. This seasonal beer, which has been described as nirvana for hop lovers, has been so talked about that is was sold out even before the distributors received their shipment from Troegs. We were lucky enough to jump on this bus and have plenty in stock. Stop in and see why Beer Advocate rates this beer an A and Ratebeer.com gives it a 99! Another new limited edition comes from our friends at Magic Hat. Vinyl is their spring amber offering and signals the long days of winter coming to an end. Other new noteworthy beers include Smuttynose old Brown Dog, a classic American brown ale and Duvel, a classic Belgian strong ale that is bottle conditioned.

Our draft system has seen two new additions this past week. The ever classic home town hero Brooklyn Lager has been a welcome addition. We have also added a phenomenal West Coast favorite, Flying Dog Doggie Style Pale Ale. This is one hell of a beer, perfectly balanced with slight hops and crisp malt flavors.

HEY NOW! Greetings from a bitter cold evening here in Bayside, Queens. Hard to believe just last week it was 55 degrees! However, with the frigid air here, it's finally time to wrap our hands around a nice winter warmer! We have several new beers on the menu this week. First and foremost is the latest IPA on draft, Racer 5 from Bear Republic in California. This is one hell of a beer and has most recently taken Gold medal in the 2009 Great American Beer Festival. If you are a hop lover then you can't miss this offering!! New to the bottle list is two great winter ales. The first is the classic Anchor Steam Christmas Ale which is medium bodied with a hint of spice and continues to be a classic after 35 years! The second offering is Great Divide Hibernation ale from Denver. This is one great English style ale that is heavy on the malt and one that requires sipping! Hola Amigos! Long time since I dropped some news so I figured it would be best to catch up our readers on what's been flowing these days at Press 195! As the temperature drops our beer offerings will start to explore the darker, heartier malty beers that seem to pair well with cold weather. One of the best beers I have tried as of late fits right into this category, Southhampton Imperial Porter. With distinct malt overtones and caramel highlights, this beer gets better as it sits which is typical of this style of beer. Hence, a nice winter sipper. Ratebeer.com scores this beer a 96 out of 100 so it is a must try! New to our draft lines this week is Fire Island Brewery's Lighthouse Ale, a crisp amber ale that is reminiscent of Colorado's Fat Tire Ale, which has a tremendous following out West. Another beer just hitting the draft lines is Blue Point's Winter Ale. With a bit more hops than most Winter ale's, it opens on a sweet note and finishes with a slight hop taste that leaves your mouth happy! Well, enough talk from me, here is the latest beer list!

Hola Amigos! Rain, everywhere, non-stop and relentless, when will we crack 80 degrees again? The summer is moving ahead and things here at Press 195 have been busy. Since Memorial Day the beer has been flowing in our backyard and who doesn't love a nice ale in a beautiful backyard? This week we have a few new beers for you and they are winners. Stop in, grab one and say hi!

Two new beers on tap and we are psyched because they kick ass! From Pennsylvania comes Victory Lager, a fine example of an all malt beer that is rounded out with a nice hop finish. And, from the West Coast is truly one of the finest beers I have tasted all year, Stone Levitation. If one would look up the term 'well-balanced' the description could include this beer, hoppy, malty but never overpowering, this beer can be drank all day.

Bottle wise, we are proud to introduce our customers to Belfast Bay Lobster Ale, a fantastic red ale from the land of lobsters, Maine! From the local region we also just released Brooklyn Local Two, another an amazing Belgian Abbey Ale. The weekly list is:

Outrage IPA (Garrattsville, NY): Brewed by our friend and local Bayside native, Kenny Landin, in conjunction with our friends at Butternuts Brewery, this is the very first release from Landin ales. A nice floral hop with a crisp finish, this is a great session beer. Support local! 6% abv

Radeberger Pilsner (Germany): Long enjoyed by German nobility, this is the world’s most famous pilsner. One sip and you will know why! Super refreshing and very smooth! 4.7% abv

Stone Levitation (San Diego): This deep amber ale has rich & roasty malt flavors, a big hoppy character, citrus overtones (courtesy of the hops and our special brewers yeast) and modest alcohol. 4.4% abv

Victory Lager (PA): Victory lager is a soft, smooth tasting beer made with an ale-style recipe using lager fermentation and conditioning techniques. The beer is unfiltered and the remaining yeast, high in Vitamin B, gives the beer its unique opalescent amber color. 5.2% abv

Hole amigos! Bang and summer is here! Yes, longer days and warmer weather are finally with us. Last week our annual Welcome to Summer Event was a huge success, thanks in part to our great staff, the Buttermilk Pancakes acoustic duo and our friends at Outrage Ale! This week we have a few interesting beers on the menu, but most anticipated is Brooklyn Breweries Local Two. With their huge success with the Belgian inspired Golden Ale they called Local One, Garrett Oliver and his brewing team set forth to brew another high quality Belgian inspired ale, this go around the Abbey Ale that is now dubbed Local Two. Both are phenomenal, the Local One a lighter ale that accompanies spicier foods well where the Local Two majes a great teammate with our new awesome burgers and Belgian fries! Hola amigos! With the chilly weather upon us it seems quite odd to write about the latest beer on our rotating tap lines, Blue Point Summer! But, as we all know, within days it will jump up form the low 50's to the 70's and the great weather will be upon us. In a quick minute we will be putting aside the heavy ales and stouts and turning our attention the summer seasonals and the light golden ales. Anyways we have a few new special beers this week that should be checked out, especially a very limited release from Stone Brewing out of San Diego. Spring is officially here and unfortunately the warm weather is not cooperating. A cold, rainy night simply means one last chance to curl up with a good winter warmer. So take advantage and grab one of the last 4 bottles we have of my favorite winter ale choice of this year, Elysian Breweries BiFrost ale. Thanks to the many who came out for our St. Patricks day celebration. Many had the chance to drink on our featured beers of the week via the West Coast, Rogue Kells Irish lager. This is one smooth session beer, perfect for a night of debauchery such as St. Patricks day. Greetings from a blistery cold Monday afternoon. The calendar may make us think Spring but Mother Nature has quickly reminded us that this is still Winter! I guess we jumped the gun as we have now brought on two new Spring beers to our tap lines, Harpoon Brewery's Celtic Al e and Blue Point's Spring Fling. If these do not work for you and you still want to keep the winter vibe going we are one of the only bars left to offer my favorite choice for this winter via Colorado, Elysian Brewery's BiFrost Winter Ale. As I truly love this beer, we were lucky enough to grab the last case available from Union Beer Distributors.

For those who made it out to our 3rd Annual Fat Tuesday party, thanks very much. We all had a blast listening to the acoustic sounds of Matt Phillips and we all got to enjoy some nice Abita Beers. We still have their brand new Abita Jakomo IPA on tap, stop in and grab one before its gone.

Finally, new to the menu this week are two very different beers. First, by way of Germany, we are bringing in the classic Hofbrau Munich Dark Lager. This is a real smooth lager that has been in production since the 1600's. Grab a taste of what makes this such a classic. On the complete different side of the spectrum comes a brand new offering to the East Coast via Colorado, Left Hand Brewing's Saw Tooth Ale. From past trips out West I have sampled some brews from this brewery, but never had the chance to try this one. Please stop in so we can sample this together!

Hey Now! Greetings from a relatively warm February evening. We got some nice suds for you this week. Can you say Ommegang Abbey Ale! This upstate gem is a sure thing for those Belgian beer lovers. Also just added to the list is the brand new Harpoon Spring Celtic ale on tap. A perfect example of a red ale, this is a smooth easy sipper that goes well with any of our spicy food offerings. To save the best for last, my favorite winter beer this year coming out of Seattle, WA is Elysian Bi-frost. Not too sweet like many winter warmers, this beer is packed full of malty goodness balanced with a nice bouquet of hops. One taste and you will be looking forward to next years offering! Change is in the cold air in NYC!

A new president for the people and a new beer on tap for our customers! We here at Press 195 are always trying to think local and with Defiant Prohibition lager we definitely did think local. Brewed 30 miles from Bayside in Pearl River, NY (Rockland County) this is a great example of a beer brewed during the days of prohibition. It proves that with even the simplest of ingredients, a fine beer can be created. This brewery is one to watch as everything they offer at their brew pub is of the highest quality. The brewmaster, Neil, formely of Mountain Valley Brewpub in Suffern, NY, really knows his stuff and if you ever make it there you must try the bottle conditioned Double IPA. This is the real deal and will make any IPA fan very happy! As well, we brought in some great new bottles to our specialty list including:

Happy new years to all, hope you were able to enjoy some of the finer beers the winter season offers. My personal favorite is now on tap here, Blue Point Winter. Slighly hoppy, very malty, this beer is one to savor! We are also about to replace another of my favorites, Victory Pilsner, with another fine Pilsner, Raddeberger from across the globe in Germany.

Hey now. Yes fall is here and that means some delicious dark beers are on their way. Nothing beats a nice porter and a great sandwich, c'mon in and grab both! Here is the latest list. Key highlights include a fantastic IPA from our friends in the Hamptons, Southhampton brewery. Not an overkill of hops, it is just right and certainly refreshing. From the other end of the country comes Big Bear Black Stout from the famous Big Bear, Cali brewery. This is rich caramel stout that tastes best at room temp. The fall weather is definitely here and clearly noted with sales of the ever popular Mothers Milk stout beer rising and Allagash White slowing down. With that in mind, we introduce our customers to a great Pumpkin spiced beer from our neighbors at South Hampton brewery. Not too overwhelming with spice notes, this beer pours a thick head that settles slowly and allows a distinguished flavors of malt to come through. Another new bottle to the list this week is Stone brewery's (San Diego) Ruination IPA. We love our hops here at Press 195 and this is a double IPA that simply kicks ass! New this week on tap is a very flavorful IPA offering from our friends at South Hampton brewery. It's got a clear hop bite with a refreshing dry overtone that makes it easy drinking! We have another great batch of beer this week for your drinking pleasure. New on tap is a great hoppy offering from Brooklyn's Six Point brewery, Hop Obama. I have been told that if Obama wins they will continue production. Let's hope for the sake of the country that Six Point is still brewing this come December. In bottles, the fall season is here and that means a pumpkin spiced beer, we chose upstate NY's Southern Tier's Pumpking ale. Sweet, delicious with slight hints of pumkin spice, not overbearing like many others out there. Here is the current list:

Lagunitas IPA (CA): Made from 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this is one mighty fine IPA. If you like the hops then you’ll love this selection. 22 oz. 5.9% abv
Arrogant bastard Ale (CA): This is an aggressive beer. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. 22 oz 7.2% abv
