Winter is officially here as Bayside saw its first snowfall last night. Not too much but enough to awaken the desire for dark beers! This week we have a few very special additions to our list. The two highlights include Jewbilation 12, a limited edition strong brown ale from the makers of the HeBrew series, and Kruscovice Dark, a schwarzbier style Czech beer. Outrage IPA(Garrattsville, NY): Brewed by our friend and local Bayside native, Kenny Landin, in conjunction with our friends at Butternuts Brewery, this is the very first release from Landin ales. A nice floral hop with a crisp finish, this is a great session beer. Support local!6% abv
Jewbulation 12 (New York):STRONG ALE! At 12% abv, this is one big mofo of a beer-- rich, strong, and full-bodied. This is a silky smooth brown ale with fine carbonation, and is in every way, shape, and form a sipper. Krusovice Dark (CzechRepublic): “Krus” is a classic Czech black beer or Schwarzbier which in simple terms is a dark lager beer. Don’t be fooled by the opaque, black color, this is much milder and less bitter than any dark beer you have tasted. Remarkably smooth! 4.9% abv

Key highlights include a fantastic IPA from our friends in the Hamptons, Southhampton brewery. Not an overkill of hops, it is just right and certainly refreshing. From the other end of the country comes Big Bear Black Stout from the famous Big Bear, Cali brewery. This is rich caramel stout that tastes best at room temp. October 24th, 2008 The fall weather is definitely here and clearly noted with sales of the ever popular Mothers Milk stout beer rising and Allagash White slowing down. With that in mind, we introduce our customers to a great Pumpkin spiced beer from our neighbors at South Hampton brewery. Not too overwhelming with spice notes, this beer pours a thick head that settles slowly and allows a distinguished flavors of malt to come through. Another new bottle to the list this week is Stone brewery's (San Diego) Ruination IPA. We love our hops here at Press 195 and this is a double IPA that simply kicks ass! New this week on tap is a very flavorful IPA offering from our friends at South Hampton brewery. It's got a clear hop bite with a refreshing dry overtone that makes it easy drinking! We have another great batch of beer this week for your drinking pleasure. New on tap is a great hoppy offering from Brooklyn's Six Point brewery, Hop Obama. I have been told that if Obama wins they will continue production. Let's hope for the sake of the country that Six Point is still brewing this come December. In bottles, the fall season is here and that means a pumpkin spiced beer, we chose upstate NY's Southern Tier's Pumpking ale.
